VIETNAMESE CITIZEN MR. PHAM THANH NGHI AWARDED “FRIENDSHIP MEDAL” OF MONGOLIA

By decree of the President of Mongolia, H.E. Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, the “Friendship” Medal, one of Mongolia’s high State honors, was awarded to Mr. Pham Thanh Nghi, a citizen and entrepreneur of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The medal was conferred by H.E. Ms. Hulan Ganbaatar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on May 29, 2026.

Mr. Pham Thanh Nghi was recognized for his significant contribution and dedication to strengthening Mongolia–Vietnam relations through investments in innovation and high-technology-based manufacturing. As a dedicated entrepreneur, researcher, and manufacturing engineer specializing in innovative technology projects, he has pioneered the introduction and application of advanced technologies in Mongolia, particularly in the deep processing of natural and agricultural raw materials and by-products.

Notably, Mr. Pham Thanh Nghi established a specialized high-tech facility for the processing of Mongolian horse bones, a traditional slaughterhouse by-product, into purely natural, nutrient-rich bio-products, including natural amino acid powders and collagen. This innovative approach contributes to addressing environmental challenges associated with agricultural by-products while creating high-value natural raw materials with applications in food, biological, and healthcare products.

The initiative also demonstrates the potential of Mongolia’s unique natural and pastoral resources, including its longstanding equine tradition and internationally recognized pristine environment, to support the development of innovative, high-value industries. Through the introduction of new technologies, Mr. Pham Thanh Nghi has also contributed to expanding trade and economic cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam and creating new opportunities for business and technological collaboration.

In recognition of these contributions to innovation, environmental sustainability, healthcare-related manufacturing, and Mongolia–Vietnam cooperation, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia jointly nominated Mr. Pham Thanh Nghi for the State distinction, which was subsequently conferred by the President of Mongolia.

The ceremony was witnessed by former Ambassadors of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Mongolia, including H.E. Ms. Doan Thi Huong and H.E. Mr. Doan Khanh Tam.
